Rear-Admiral Sir Peter Anson, 7th Baronet, CB 1924-2018

_. Rear-Admiral Sir Peter Anson, 7th Baronet, CB, died 17 April, 2018. He was 93.

He was born 31 July, 1924, son of Sir Edward Anson, 6th Baronet (1902-1951), by his wife the former Frances Alison Pollock (1903-97), scion of the Montagu-Pollock baronets; succeeded to the baronetcy (cr 1831) upon his father's death, 26 June, 1951; married 16 April, 1955, Elizabeth Audrey (b 1931), daughter of Rear-Admiral Sir (Charles) Philip Clarke, KBE, CB, DSO (1898-1966), by his wife the former Audrey Doreen White (1902-76); and had issue, 2 sons and two daughters. The elder son, Philip Roland Anson, born 4 Oct, 1957, succeeds to the baronetcy.

Gage/Llewellyn engagement

The engagement was announced 14 April, 2018, between the Hon (Richard David) Benedict Gage (born 1977), younger son of the 8th Viscount Gage (b 1934), by his wife the former Lady Diana Beatty (b 1952), scion of the Earls Beatty, & Natasha Anna Christina Llewellyn (born 1984), scion of the Llewellyn baronets, daughter of Sir Roderic Victor (Roddy) Llewellyn, 5th Baronet (born 1947), by his wife the former Tatiana Manora Caroline Soskin (b 1948).

Sir Roddy Llewellyn is the one-time love of HRH The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon.

Oliver James Anthony Ennever (born 2018)

__. Olivia Rose Ennever (nee Wake-Walker, born 1984), wife of Alistair James F. Ennever (b 1984), and scion of the Wake-Walker baronets, gave birth to a son, Oliver James Anthony, 9 April, 2018.

Alistair Ennever is a son of Mr (Anthony) Michael Ennever, of Shaldon, Hampshire, by his wife the former Kirsty F J Nicholson.

Olivia Ennever is a second cousin of the Duke of Cambridge & Prince Harry, daughter of Richard Anthony Wake-Walker (born 1951), of Wimbledon, by his wife the former Sharon Pamela Little (b 1952).
The bride is descended from the 7th Earl Spencer, via her grandmother, Lady Anne Spencer, sister of the 8th Earl Spencer, &c.

The engagement was announced 10 April, 2018, between Frederic James Michael Ralph (Jamie) Kerr (born 1989), scion of the Marquesses of Lothian, second son of Lord Ralph Kerr (b 1957) of Melbourne, Derbyshire, by his wife the former Marie-Claire Black, & Olivia Frances Day (born 1991), daughter of Simon James Day, of Westminster, London, by his wife the former Karen Frances Armstrong.

Lord Ralph Kerr is the heir pres to his elder brother, the 13th Marquis of Lothian.

Elizabeth, Countess Temple of Stowe (1928-2018)

__. Elizabeth Countess Temple of Stowe, who died 4 April, 2018, aged 89, was the second wife, and widow, of Walter Grenville Algernon Temple-Gore-Langton, 8th Earl Temple of Stowe (1924-2013).

She was born Margaret Elizabeth Graham Scarth, 17 Nov, 1928, daughter of Colonel Henry William Scarth of Breckness, of Shetland, and married the then Mr Walter Temple-Gore-Langton, as his second wife, 1 June, 1968.

Her husband succeeded a cousin in the earldom (created in 1822), 28 Aug, 1988, and died 17 Sept, 2013, when he was succeeded by a son of his first marriage.

A service of Thanksgiving takes place at St Mary's Church, Easton, near Winchester, 23 Apr, 2018.

Christine Countess Poulett (died 2018)


Christine Countess Poulett, who has recently died, was the third wife and widow of the 8th & last Earl Poulett.

She was the former Margaret Christine Ball, daughter of Wilfred John Peter Ball, of Reading, Berkshire, and married, 12 Sept, 1968, as his third wife, George Amias Fitzwarrine Poulett, the 8th Earl Poulett (1909-73), who died 1 March, 1973, when the earldom became extinct.

Hon Henry Cornwallis Maude 1928-2018

_. The Hon Henry Maude, who died 31 March, 2018, aged 90, was a scion of the Viscounts Hawarden, and a younger son of the 7th Viscount Hawarden (1877-1958), by his wife the former Marion Wright (d 1974); born 3 March, 1928; married 8 Aug, 1964, Elizabeth Georgina Lockie, daughter of David McNaught Lockie, by whom he had issue.

Henry Cornwallis Maude was High Sheriff of Kent in 1989.

12th Baron Digby, KCVO 1924-2018

_. The 12th Baron Digby, KCVO, a former Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, died on Easter Sunday, 1 April, 2018, at the age of 93.

Edward Henry Kenelm Digby was born 24 July, 1924, son of the 11th Baron Digby, KG, DSO, MC (1894-1964), by his wife the former Hon Constance Pamela Alice Bruce (d 1978), fourth daughter of the 2nd Baron Aberdare.

He succeeded his father, 29 January, 1964; married 18 Dec, 1952, Diona Marian Sherbrooke, daughter of Rear-Admiral Robert St Vincent Sherbrooke, VC, CB, DSO, by whom he had issue, two sons and a daughter.

Lord Digby served as a captain in the Coldstream Guards, and served as Lord Lieutenant for the county of Dorset, 1984-99; he was appointed KCVO in 1998.

He is succeeded in the family honours by his elder son, the Hon Henry Noel Kenelm Digby, who was born 6 January, 1954.

The funeral takes place at St Andrew's Church, Minterne Magna, Monday 16 Apr, followed by a Memorial Service at Sherborne Abbey, 1 June, 2018.

Sidonie Zita Elizabeth Fairfax (born 2018)

__. Elmerice Karoline Sidone Elisabeth, Erzherzogin von Habsburg-Lothringen (born 1984), wife of Alexander Thomas Digby Fairfax (b 1986) scion of the Lords Fairfax of Cameron, gave birth to a daughter, Sidonie Zita Elizabeth, 31 March, 2018.

Alexander Fairfax is a son of the Hon Hugh Nigel Thomas Fairax (b 1958), and is a grandson paternally of the 13th Lord Fairfax of Cameron (1923-64).

Elmerice, Erzherzogin von Habsburg-Lothringen, descended from the Royal House of Austria, is a daughter of Christoph Heinrich, Graf von Habsburg-Lothringen (b 1944).

Diana Gladstone (d 2018)

__. Diana Gladstone, who died 27 February, 2018, aged 94, was the widow of John Gladstone of Capenoch, scion of that landed gentry family.

She was the former Diana Fleming-Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton Fleming-Hamilton, who died in 1931, and married in 1950, as his second wife, John Gladstone (1908-77) by whom she had issue.

Her daughter Julia is Mrs Humphrey Smith, wife of the chairman of Samuel Smith Brewery, Tadcaster, descended from the Woollcombe landed family.
